Dairy - The 1995 Bonlac 44-stand platform was upgraded in 2013 to include a full MILFOS plant, including ACR's, retention arms, pulsation and milk metering system, including litres, fat, protein, lactose temperature and conductivity. This incredible setup also includes a teat wand and auto draft. The dairy also includes an office block containing a kitchenette, shower and toilet. This is where the Bluetooth infrared milking system’s fully computerised Jantec database is stored. The Jantec software allows for total herd management and auto feed. Since the installation, the factory cell count is measured in two digits. Also housed in the office is the auto irrigation system. Both the Jantec and irrigation systems are hardwired to the house office, are stand-alone and internet free. The dairy yard is fully sprinklered, grooved concreted yard with a feed system that features two feed heads, crushed grain and Profeed, 1x Bamawm roller mill, 100tonne grain capacity, 1 x 15tonne milled grain silo, 1 x 25tonne Promix silo and 1 x 8tonne Lead Feed silo.
Paddocks and water - Excellent farm layout with wide well-formed laneways providing access to all the well-fenced paddocks. 80% of the farm is under auto irrigation with 1 x recycle pump and 1 x lift pump. A 490ML licenced bore with an early season output of 14ML per day, then drops back to 11·5ML mid-summer. The 3ML delivery share coupled to the backbone channel running up the western boundary of the property supplements irrigation. Wastewater is delivered to farm at 11-13ML per day dependent on other users. This allocation equates to 250ML per annum, which is only likely to increase due to the growth of Echuca and Rochester townships.
